First week camp is a family affair at Iron Creek. Located in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Iron Creek is a well established remote campground located among three volcanic peaks: Mt. Rainier to the north, Mt. Adams to the east, and Mount St. Helens to the west.  Along the Cispus River this old forest of tall trees nicely secludes the campsites.

Unfortunately there is only one geocache in the camp ground. We quickly found itand the kids wanted more. So I took a container with swag items and hid it along the trail.  They had fun finding it and collecting the treasures. We had great weather for relaxing, swimming in the river, bike riding and collecting blackberries along the trails. We camped for 4 days

On the day we left, I took a side trip to another park trail to find a few more geocache. I had a nice walk and found three of the five hidden on the StoryTrail.
