02202026 I took a quick trip out to the Tonto National Forest about 2 ½ hour drive. Visiting the Roosevelt Lake area, I stayed one night at Cholla Campground and one night at Porter Springs Campground. The weather was wonderful and I got some geocaching and exploring. The Roosevelt Lake Bridge spans the Apache river right in front of the Roosevelt Dam. The highlight of my trip was the hike up to the Cliff Dwellings at the Tonto National Monument where you are able to see the historical living of the ingenious people that began about 1300 CE.
